Senior Accessibility Designer (UX and a11y)

Seated in the Inclusive Design. Work with User Experience (UX), User Interface (UI), Experience Design (XD), Content Experience (CX) and web engineering developers to develop accessible and inclusive design solutions for MinuteClinic in-person and telehealth products by providing accessibility education and design feedback.

  • Provide ARIA, HTML, and other accessibility annotations to developers on final Miro and Figma designs. Create accessible zero-fidelity versions of annotations in Word or Confluence.

  • Contributed to a 22% decrease in accessibility design defects in 2022. Remediate product defects with designers and developers, including identifying vendor defects.

  • Advise for plain language and semantic best practices for assistive technology and cognitive user navigation to content team as they develop headless CMS components. Help the Experience Designers follow best practices for assistive technology such as magnification and zoom, screen readers, and switch devices.

  • Member of Gender Inclusion Design Team, advocating for inclusive representation in forms and designs. Successfully advocated for better gender inclusion in form fields, which now allow users to choose not to answer when their gender is not shown, alongside an explanation as to the purpose of the field question.

  • Utilize WCAG 2.1 and Universal Design for Learning for topics of neurodiversity, diversity, equity and inclusion.

  • Participate in, observe UserTesting sessions and assistive tech user testing sessions in Fable.
